Professor Bourdier is the co-author of African Spaces and Drawn from African Dwellings. Production designer and co-director of seven films directed by Trinh T. Minh-ha. Painting exhibitions and photographs of ephemeral sculptures and body art widely exhibited nationally, winning fourteen national and international competitions. Before she retired. Susan Edwards served as the interim librarian for African Studies, and was head of the Social Sciences Division of the Berkeley Library. She received her Master's in Library and Information Science from UC Berkeley, and has over 30 years experience as a librarian in all areas of social sciences and humanities.
