UC Berkeley, through the University of California Education Abroad Program, offers Fall and Spring opportunities for South Africa (Cape Town) Fall, Spring, and a Year study abroad for Ghana (Legon-Accra). Fall Programs are offered in Botswana (Gaborone). Currently the programs for Egypt (Cairo), Senegal (Dakar) and Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) are not being offered.

- The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship is a congressionally funded program offered through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Institute of International Education.
