The CAS Work-in-Progress Series stimulates informal cross-disciplinary convos between graduate, faculty, and other campus Africanists. The core group is made up of Rocca Fellows: recent recipients of the Center for African Studies' prestigious graduate dissertation fellowship awards. The forum provides a space for researchers to try out in-progress work with Africa-committed peers from different disciplines, experiment with new ideas, and gain feedback - all in a low-stakes, friendly, neutral, and mutually supportive setting. All interested scholars and interlocutors are welcome to attend.
