Jim Church is the librarian for economics and international and foreign government information at UC Berkeley. His chief areas of interest are international and nongovernmental organizations, economic development, human rights, and global poverty. He is also the manager for the library depositories for the United Nations and the European Union.
Mohamed Hamed joined the University of California, Berkeley Library in 2017 as the new Middle Eastern & Near Eastern Studies Librarian. Mohamed joins the Library from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where, for the last seven years, he has been the Middle Eastern & African Studies Librarian. He has earned a BA, MA, and PhD in Library and Information Science from Cairo University. Michele McKenzie is the speciality librarian for African Studies, Anthropology and Linguistics. In addition to previous experience at the UC Berkeley Media Resource Center, she has also served as a librarian at City College of San Francisco, the Berkeley Public Library, and the Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
