UC Berkeley Alumni and African Connections
The Center is working with units across campus to foster connections between alumni, students, faculty, visiting scholars and the larger community who have interests in Africa. Via the following links, you can explore Africanist alumni resources and networks.
- Center for African Studies Grant Recipient Alumni. Over the years the Center has provided over hundred of grants to students. These lists include both current and alumni grant recipients
- African Alumni Project: A research project on career and life trajectories of African alumni of several institutions of higher education funded by the Mastercard Foundation. The final report is here.
- International Alumni Network in Africa ~ Contact the Office of International Relations to set up a club, become a contact in your region, or to find out more.
- The Cal Alumni Association annually hosts several Discoveries Travel to African locations, including Botswana, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia among other countries. On campus, the Association also hosts African-related events, such as a reception for Thulani Madondo.
- @Cal Alumni Network ~ Alumni can set up their own profile page. Once registered, alumni can use an advanced search in the directory to find other alumni by city, country, industry, etc.
Alumni on LinkedIn by African Country
Many alumni from the University of California, Berkeley work or have worked in various African countries and territories. Many UCB Alumni are in LinkedIn.
