In addition to outreach to post-secondary units through ORIAS, the Center serves as an important resource for our neighboring institutions. Local faculty have access to our libraries and events. The Center seeks particularly to support local faculty in their teaching of African Studies. Our staff is available by appointment for consultation on the development of courses, study programs and research projects. Our staff also welcomes visits and inquiries from students from other colleges and universities. We can provide consultation by appointment on research projects, study abroad, and career and graduate school plans.
CAS also supports the work of Partnership for International Education (PIE), a partnership between the four colleges of the Peralta Community College District (Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College) and the four National Resource Centers at the University of California, Berkeley funded by Title VI grants from the Federal Department of Education.
